The table below shows the default rights of the four standard roles. Since access control (top menu Access, chapter 20) this is the starting point, not the law: your administrator can deviate per role and per module, create custom roles and give a user extra access. If you do not see a screen or button from this manual, it is almost always your role or the matrix — or the module is switched off.

Besides the role, two more fine-grained rules apply: per project you can give someone extra permissions (logging hours, seeing financial data, changing rates, approving hours — chapter 10), and per organization the switching on or off of modules determines which screens exist at all (chapter 27).
